Competition: 10th Singapore Junior Biology Olympiad 2025 (SJBO) commenced on 7 May 2025

On May 7, 2025, the 10th Singapore Junior Biology Olympiad (SJBO) officially commenced! Over the years, many students have faced considerable challenges in their journey to participate. In some schools, biology teachers may not be familiar with the competition, resulting in missed registration deadlines. Meanwhile, in other competitive schools, where everyone wants to join, internal selection processes are held, and spots are allocated purely based on scores. As a result, students who are genuinely passionate about biology may miss out on the opportunity due to a momentary slip-up.

Although the competition is open to Singaporean students from Secondary 2 to Secondary 4, some schools only allocate participation slots to upper secondary students.

In light of these challenges, to mark the 10th anniversary of the competition, the organizing committee, The Singapore Institute of Biology (SIBiol), has partnered with the SMART Education Association of Singapore (SEAS) to open up individual registration for the first time.

The team at SMART Education Association handled the registration process with efficiency and accuracy, carefully selected examination venues, tested networks and computers, prepared detailed transport guides, and thoughtfully arranged bright and spacious study/rest rooms for early-arriving students and parents.

During the exam, all students followed examination rules, and invigilators strictly upheld proctoring standards. The examination was completed successfully within the allotted time.

SMART Education Association remains committed to promoting intellectual development in youth, advancing interdisciplinary education, and organizing high-level academic competitions.
